Overview

In the beginning of the fifth week of the pregnancy, you must have already missed your periods. During this time, doing a home pregnancy test by using a kit or beta hcg test can confirm your pregnancy if you are pregnant.

Today, in this blog, we will talk about the changes that take place in the fifth and sixth week of the pregnancy. In the beginning of the fifth week, the baby is surrounded by placenta, which is a layer that acts as a communication between the baby and the uterus.

Placenta is a layer that is stuck to the uterus. During this week, the baby is almost equal to the size of an orange seed and development of the brain and spinal cord begins. Also, two small tubes of heart also started forming this week.

While entering in the sixth week of the pregnancy, the baby becomes equal to the size of a pea and looks like a tadpole, a baby of the frog. During this week, the baby is in the shape of C where his eyes are forming and the circulation starts in the spinal cord and heart tubes. When this circulation starts, the heart starts to beat and this is where life comes in the baby.

Towards the end of the sixth week of the pregnancy, the face of the baby forms like his small cheeks, eyes, and the jawbone. The small buds also start forming that turn into hands and legs. All these minor changes take place in the sixth week and the baby is growing inside the uterus.

Now the major question that arises is What month is in the sixth week of pregnancy? So, when you are in the sixth week of the pregnancy, you are almost 1.5 months pregnant. You are just 7.5 months away from your little baby.

What are some changes that a pregnant mom faces?

The first change that you might see in yourself is your missed periods along with nausea and morning sickness. You may feel sudden tiredness because of the sudden changes in the baby. You may feel constipated and bloated. You may also see some changes in the size and shape of the breast and may feel some tenderness in them.

At the sixth week of pregnancy, ultrasound can also confirm the pregnancy. We can see the small pea size baby and can hear his heartbeat through ultrasound. Listening to his heartbeat will be one of the most beautiful experiences of your life.

The most important thing is to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Staying hydrated during pregnancy is important as a major part of the blood flow is flowing towards the uterus. You can also consume fluids like lime water, buttermilk, coconut water, etc. To decrease the feeling of nausea in the morning, you can eat anything like a biscuit, a toast, etc and continue eating a small portion of foods throughout the day.

During pregnancy doing a normal exercise like yoga, brisk walking, jogging can be beneficial. Avoid lifting heavy objects and weight lifting exercise in this period. You can continue with household chores and can go to your workplace.
